Nutrition

Our menus have been devised by a paediatric nutritionist.  Our food is organic and has won The Healthy Eating Under 5′s Award.  We always provide fresh balanced meals to children at each meal or snack time. A choice of fresh fruit is available at snack times, morning and afternoon. We also cater for dietary requirements and preferences.

Fresh water is available to the children at all times through water fountains and no squash is served.

Breakfast consists of a variety of non-sugared cereals and wholemeal toast.

Mid morning and mid afternoon snacks consist of various fruit and a choice or either milk or water to drink.

Lunch is always a balanced hot meal, cooked freshly on the premises by a dedicated nursery cook.

Tea is fresh and balanced and includes a variety of choices including soup, pasta and pizza; all homemade, along with a variety of fruit.

Copies of our four week menus and recipes are available at the nursery and in our parents area.

We tailor our menus weekly to reflect children’s choice (we find this out during conversations at meal times) and introduce at least one new food or dish for the children to try every week.  We also ensure that children are introduced to a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.

BREAKFAST:  Selection of cereal, toast or fruit with milk or water

SNACK:  Fresh fruit platter

LUNCH:  Beef bolognaise with spaghetti and mixed salad.  Raspberry yoghurt.

HOT TEA:  Grilled lemon and honey chicken with couscous and broccoli.  Banana flapjacks.

BREAKFAST:  Selection of cereal, toast or fruit with milk or water

SNACK:  Cheese straws with cucumber, rice cakes and grapes

LUNCH:  Vegetable and sweet potato curry with basmati rice and naan bread.  Orange sponge.

HOT TEA:  Baked potato with tuna, cheese, mixed salad and baked beans.  Pineapple and mango.

BREAKFAST:  Selection of cereal, toast or fruit with milk or water

SNACK:  Mixed fresh and dried fruits

LUNCH:  Roast chicken with roast potatoes and carrots.  Chocolate rice cakes.

HOT TEA:  Homemade ham and pineapple pizza with mixed salad.  Vanilla yoghurt.

BREAKFAST:  Selection of cereal, toast or fruit with milk or water

SNACK:  Carrots, bread sticks, peppers, cheese and houmous

LUNCH:  Macaroni cheese with mixed salad and butternut squash.  Fresh fruit salad.

HOT TEA:  Lamb and feta burger with potato wedges and sweet corn.  Apple crumble.

BREAKFAST:  Selection of cereal, toast or fruit with milk or water

SNACK:  Fresh fruit platter

LUNCH:  Salmon fishcakes with new potatoes and peas.  Lemon curd yoghurt.

HOT TEA:  Beef chilli con carne with boiled rice and broccoli.  Fruit scones.
